Top 5 Beginner Pickleball Paddles Under $100

So you’ve just found out about the greatest sport in the world- pickleball. Maybe you’ve even gone out and tried it with some friends. Little did you know that after a few minutes playing on the court you caught what we refer to as “the pickleball bug.” It’s okay… we know exactly how you’re feeling right now. You’re ready to jump all in and get yourself a paddle but you just don’t know where to start. That’s why we’re here to help you!

There are hundreds of Pickleball Paddles on the market right now. They’re made of different materials, they have different weight profiles and the prices can be anywhere from $20 to $300! It can feel a little overwhelming.

WHAT KIND OF PICKLEBALL PADDLE SHOULD I START OUT WITH?

I typically suggest that most beginner players start out with a more “basic” and “balanced” type of paddle. I know those two words might sound boring but the reason I say this is because right now you most likely don’t know what kind of pickleball player you are. You don’t know if you’re a power player, a finesse player, a defensive player or an aggressive player. You might not know if you prefer a one-handed backhand or a two-handed backhand. You’re probably not sure if you’re going to be a player that values reach over a larger hitting surface. All that being said, those factors weigh heavily on what paddle will really compliment your playing style.

So the reason I encourage pickleball players starting out with a basic and balanced paddle is because this will give them some time and save them some resources financially to really figure out their game before committing to a $200+ paddle. Plus, paddles really only last about 8 months of regular play so by the time you really get a feel for what you’re wanting it should be about time to get a new one 🙂
